Health care is rapidly becoming the biggest concern in our nation as well as the world. It is of vital importance to the community that we have a system in place that has the appropriate attitudes, behaviors, and policies that allow health care professionals to work effectively in cross-cultural situations . ( Cross et al 1989; Isaacs & Benjamin, 1991 ). The Shelton community seeks to ensure that; all of Shelton's children have access to culturally competent* physical, mental and oral health care and every pregnant mother has adequate pre-natal care.
